“The Plaka” is the name of one of Athens’ oldest neighborhoods, in the foothills of the Acropolis. And since Sam and Joanne Gogos both emigrated from Greece, and she still cooks the Greek specialties that are our customers’ favorites, they named their restaurant after that beloved part of town.

Natural, Wholesome Ingredients, Locally Sourced

As a Buffalo-area landmark for over two decades (more if you remember Watson’s restaurant on the site before it became The Plaka), we make an effort to buy locally whenever we can. All of our dairy products, for example, come from TK Dairy Farm.
